Progressive Shervin Aazami Announces year-to-date fundraising total of over $54,000 for 2022 Primary, More than any other challenger, Democrat or Republican in California’s 30th Congressional District.

Public health professional and activist Shervin Aazami continues to build momentum on his historic run to unseat a corporate incumbent and deliver bold, progressive policies to the San Fernando Valley.

Los Angeles, CA -- Shervin Aazami’s progressive campaign to represent California’s 30th Congressional District has multiple reasons to celebrate after raising nearly $34,000 during a very successful Second Quarter, bringing total fundraising to $54,800 year-to-date. Aazami is the only true progressive in this race and his campaign is 100% funded by grassroots supporters - that means no money from corporate PACs, fossil fuel companies, or police associations to name a few. Despite this, not only did Aazami outraise all other primary challengers this quarter, but his campaign also already raised more money than any past progressive challenger ever in the entirety of their campaigns.

That’s why Shervin has received endorsements from Brand New Congress, Marianne Williamson, West Valley People’s Alliance, Progressive Democrats of America - Middle East Alliances, and many more.

Aazami released this statement about the impressive Second Quarter fundraising numbers:

“For too long, we have been stuck with the same corporate representation that has failed to champion the reforms our community needs. Meanwhile, our San Fernando Valley district has dealt with the largest natural gas blowout in U.S. history, and one of the largest nuclear meltdowns. We have countless community members living paycheck to paycheck in a city with astronomical cost of living. We are ground zero for our national housing and homelessness crisis, with five unhoused neighbors dying per day in Los Angeles. We can’t expect the same representation to suddenly champion the solutions working families need - we need new representation that will advocate for necessary policies like single-payer Medicare for All, housing as a human right, climate justice, and divesting from the U.S. war machine. I’m proud to be running an unapologetically progressive campaign, and am so humbled by the outpouring of support from our community. Let’s do this.
